With the NBA Trade Deadline under a month away, Detroit Pistons star Jerami Grant remains one of the hottest commodities on the market. His skillset would give an instant punch to any contender in the league, with around a dozen teams actually interested in him.

The Lakers, Trail Blazers, Knicks, Jazz, Wizards, Celtics, Pacers, Timberwolves, and Kings are all eyeing Grant, but there is one NBA organization that is emerging as a favorite to land him.

Via Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report:

Several league personnel view Washington as a favorite to land Grant. He hails from the D.C. area, his father Harvey played for the franchise from 1988-93 and again from 1996-98. The Wizards' first-year head coach Wes Unseld Jr. also coached Grant as an assistant with the Nuggets.

Despite general manager Tommy Sheppard's contract extension, Washington's front office is still under a dose of pressure to build the best complementary roster it can around Bradley Beal ahead of the NBA All-Star guard's contract extension this summer.

Per Fischer, the Pistons are looking for quite a return. Either two first-round picks or a lone first-rounder and a young player with a high ceiling. That being said, the Wizards would reportedly be willing to include Deni Avdija or Rui Hachimura in a package or even Montrezl Harrell, who is expected to be made available in a trade, according to Fischer.

Grant is currently out with a thumb injury, but he's been the Pistons' most productive player in 2021/22. The 27-year-old is averaging 20.1 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists. Given his connections to the DC area, it seems like a logical fit. We'll see if the Wizards get it done.

Wherever Jerami Grant ends up, he will be a solid addition to any NBA team.
