Minnesota Timberwolves small forward Robert Covington has received trade interest from the Houston RocketsDallas MavericksPhiladelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers.

The Timberwolves are expected to drive a hard bargain for Covington, who is a sound two-way player. In fact, according to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report, Minnesota wants two first-round picks for RoCo:

The Minnesota Timberwolves, several league executives say, are looking for the lofty price tag of two first-round picks for versatile forward Robert Covington.

The Timberwolves acquired Covington from the Sixers in the Jimmy Butler trade last season. He’s averaging 12.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists this season in 46 games while shooting 43.7 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc and 79.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Covington is making $11,301,219 this season. He’s owed $12,138,345 next season and $12,975,471 in 2021-22.

The Timberwolves are 15-32 on the season. They won't make the playoffs, so they might as well trade Covington and get some valuable assets in return so their future isn’t bleak.

The Sixers are looking for more shooters around All-Stars Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons in order to take the next step. Their bench could also use a boost. Since Covington already has a rapport with the Sixers organization, it makes sense Philly is trying to bring the swingman back.
