The league has just unveiled the NBA All-Star 2019 logo that honors the city where it will be held. The midseason classic takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, home of the Charlotte Hornets that is owned by Michael Jordan, the widely-believed greatest player of all time.

The event will take place at the Spectrum Center on February 15-17, 2019 marking just the second time that the All-Star Weekend will be held in Charlotte. In 1991, the East beat the West 116-114 at Charlotte Coliseum. The Philadelphia 76ers’ Charles Barkley was the MVP for that game.
Two years ago, the Charlotte Hornets were deprived of the opportunity to host the All-Star Game in 2017 when the NBA objected to the state's House Bill 2. The league deemed that the bill had limited anti-discrimination protections for lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders in the state of North Carolina.
Unfortunately for Charlotte, no Hornets players will be playing in the 2018 NBA All-Star Game, but the Jordan Brand logo (whose CEO is the team’s owner) will be present on all the jerseys. It’s a consolation perhaps but also an interesting way for the team to be represented in the game for this year’s event.

“The on-court festivities for NBA All-Star 2019 at Spectrum Center will tip off Friday, February 15, with the Mtn Dew Kickstart Rising Stars, featuring the league’s best rookies and sophomores. On Saturday, February 16, State Farm All-Star Saturday Night will feature thrilling basketball competitions, including the Taco Bell Skills Challenge, JBL Three-Point Contest and Verizon Slam Dunk. The weekend concludes on Sunday, February 17, with the 68th NBA All-Star Game.
In partnership with the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA), the NBA will host several ancillary events for fans of all ages at the Charlotte Convention Center and Bojangles’ Coliseum, including NBA All-Star Practice, the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game presented by Ruffles and NBA G League events.”
