For some unknown reason, the basketball seems to get stuck at bizarre places during Los Angeles Lakers games in the 2019-20 NBA regular season.

Play was stopped at the seven-minute mark of the fourth quarter match between the Lakers and the Sacramento Kings on Friday after the ball got stuck on top of the back board following a three-point attempt by Kyle Kuzma.

With the ball perched far away from reach, Kings’ shooting guard Buddy Hield took the matters into his own hands and used a mop’s handle to poke it free. He did so in one attempt, earning him some commendations from Lakers announcers.

The Lakers were up by four, 84-80, at the time of the incident.

A similar scenario also occurred in the Lakers’ last game versus the Golden State Warriors, when Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s point-black lay-up attempt wedged in the rim.
