Retired Miami Heat legned Dwyane Wade recently made a surprise visit to his high school alma mater, where the world premier of his new film was being shown.

As students were gathered in the auditorium, they were surprised with a special guest appearance from Dwyane Wade:

ESPN Films and Imagine Documentaries partnered to create a new biopic about Dwyane Wade titled, D. Wade: Life Unexpected. The film is set to debut on Feb. 23 at 9 pm EST on ESPN and will take an in-depth look at the basketball legend’s life and career, according to a report from Revolt.

ESPN reports that Wade's new film, which is directed and executive produced by Bob Metelus, will incorporate hundreds of hours of exclusive home footage and video diaries in an attempt to portray his life.

“I’m excited to share a side of myself with the world that not many people may know,” Dwyane Wade said in an ESPN press release. “This deeply personal documentary will give fans a never-before seen look not only at the behind-the-scenes of my 16-year career in the NBA, but will peel back the curtain on my personal life – the highs, the lows and everything in between – showing how I created my own path to get to where I am today.”

Dwyane Wade decided to retire form the NBA at the conclusion of the 2018-19 campaign, leaving the league after 16 years of service. A three-time champion and 13-time All-Star, he'll go down as one of the greatest shooting guards to have ever played the game.
