Linsanity may very well be on its way back to the NBA. Jeremy Lin announced in tearful video his desire to return to the league that made him an international star. The 32-year old shared the news to his 7 million followers on Weibo, a Twitter-like social media platform in China.

Lin expressed the difficulty leaving the Chinese Basketball Association, where he played for one season with the Beijing Ducks. Nonetheless, the former New York Knicks star shared that he still wants to chase his dreams of playing in the NBA once again.

Via Jonathan White of The South China Morning Post:

“In the end, although Shougang has treated me incredibly well … giving me everything I wanted, in the end, I feel that I still have NBA dreams. I still have time to play and I have to chase this.”

Lin also added that he tearfully shared the decision with his family after thinking about it for over four weeks.

“Why was this decision so difficult? Yesterday, when I shared this with my family and friends, when I told them I would have to leave China, I cried.”

Jeremy Lin last played in the NBA in the 2018-19 season, where he won a championship with the Toronto Raptors. The 6-foot-3 guard played just 23 games for Toronto in the regular season and saw just garbage minutes in their run to the title.

In the summer of 2019, no team sought Lin's services. Lin shared the difficulty of the process of going through free agency without any suitors and this eventually led the Taiwanese-American to play in the CBA.

After one season in China, it seems like Lin is ready to take the leap to play in the NBA once again. Hopefully, one team answers when he comes knocking on the door.
