Maybe it’s in their DNA, but the Ball family has proven they can find a way to get a lot of attention to themselves, and continue to be much talked about.
A recent video surfaced where this year’s top rookies were asked to share who they think is the GOAT. Whether it may be in basketball, other sports, athletes, and even fast food joints, they revealed their picks. However, Lonzo Ball caused quite a stir when he named his father, LaVar, as his greatest of all time.

While many may contest his claim as the older Ball did not standout during his professional football career along with his pedestrian averages while playing college basketball, it will also be very difficult to contest the Los Angeles Lakers rookie’s claim. It could be that he is showing how much he loves his father, and thinks highly of him for how he raised him and his brothers.
Despite all his controversial comments in the past, one thing that cannot be taken away from LaVar Ball is how much he cares and believes in his sons. He can also be considered a marketing genius for how he hyped-up Lonzo and in the end still got what he wished for. His ways may not be the most ideal for many, but it secured his son’s future, and he still ended up with the only team he wanted him to play for.
