Nick Young certainly made Christmas Day 2019 one to remember.

The 12-year NBA veteran got engaged to longtime girlfriend—who is also the mother of his son, Nick Jr. and daughter, Navi—Keonna Green on Wednesday:

Young and Green originally started dating in high school, and Green gave birth to Nick Jr. in 2012.

Of course, Young had a rather short-lived relationship with rapper Iggy Azalea that ended in part because of a leaked video on behalf of former Los Angeles Lakers teammate D'Angelo Russell in 2016 that essentially implicated Young of infidelity. Incidentally, it was announced that Young and Green were expecting a second child (Navi) when Young and Azalea were still engaged.

The notorious “Swaggy P” is still awaiting an NBA contract. He has yet to formally announce his retirement, though he hinted at hanging up the sneakers if he is not signed before the end of the year (via Kurt Helin of Pro Basketball Talk):

Young had a couple workouts but also did not find a team willing to sign him this season, either.

Is he done as an NBA player? Young told Compex that if he doesn’t get a contract this season, at age 34, he can read the writing on the wall and will retire.

“This is pretty much like my last year, if nothing happened,” says Young. “I’m just going to call it, it’s over. No more Swaggy P.”

Young played four games with the Denver Nuggets last December. He has not played in the NBA since.

Regardless of what the future holds in terms of basketball, Young and Green now have the rest of their lives together after a memorable Christmas proposal.
