With the NBA All-Star game tied at 152 (and both teams needing just five points to win), a controversial foul call led to tempers flaring between Team LeBron and Team Giannis.

Referees argued over a late game call in the 2020 All-Star game in Chicago, with referee Mark Davis calling for a foul on the play. Davis' call lit a fire under Team LeBron, as Chris Paul, LeBron James, Anthony Davis and James Harden all argued their case to the ref.

The call was eventually called a foul by Davis, giving the advantage to Team Giannis.

The 2020 All-Star game has experimented with a new format this season. The score is reset after each of the three quarters. The winning team in each quarter will receive $100,000 to donate to the charity of their captain's choice.

The fourth quarter implemented a format called The Elam Ending, in which the first team to score 24 points (with no predetermined minutes for the quarter) wins, no matter how long it takes. The winner of the fourth quarter receives an additional $200,000 to donate to their charity of choice.
