Through Gonzaga’s journey through the NCAA Tournament, Bulldogs center Drew Timme has been a monster around the painted area.

In Monday night’s championship game against Baylor, Drew Timme set a record with 90 points scored in the paint, which is the most in NCAA history.

Through the first half of Monday’s championship game, Drew Timme continued his quest to score in the paint with easy opportunities at the rim. He scored 10 points in the first half which all of his points were inside.

Despite Gonzaga trailing by 19 early in the first half, coach Mark Few has continued to have his team move the ball on offense, which is resulting in good offensive possessions for Drew Timme and Company. The Bulldogs were able to cut into their deficit and trail by 10 heading into halftime.

Drew Timme has been one of the leaders for Gonzaga all season. He's averaging 19.2 points per game on 65% shooting.

Throughout the NCAA Tournament, Timme has continued his dominance in Gonzaga’s success. His most notable game is the Bulldogs’ Final Four matchup against UCLA, where Timme recorded 25 points on 11-15 shooting.

Drew Timme’s scoring performances have been huge in part to the Bulldogs’ advancing to their first Championship game in four years.

The Gonzaga Bulldogs came into Monday night’s championship matchup looking to match the Indiana Hoosiers’ 1975-76 undefeated season with 32 consecutive wins. Despite their early deficit against Baylor, the team still has 20 minutes to change momentum and put themselves back in contention. Gonzaga will need a strong second half from Timme to keep their championship chances alive.
