The Nebraska Cornhuskers endured a tough season, finishing 3-9 while averaging just over 27 points per game in head coach Scott Frost's fourth season. After the disappointing result, Nebraska is clearly intent on revamping their offense, as they added one of the best wide receiver recruits in the nation, Decoldest Crawford, back in December. The Cornhuskers didn't stop their offensive retooling there, as they benefited from a former Texas quarterback's huge announcement on Twitter.

Former Texas quarterback Casey Thompson announced on Twitter that he would be transferring to Nebraska. Other notable suitors of Thompson were Auburn, Oklahoma, Indiana and Missouri.

Thompson started 10 games for the Longhorns last season, throwing for over 2,000 yards with 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

He spent time before this season sitting behind former Texas signal-caller Sam Ehlinger before finally getting his chance. Thompson's arrival in Nebraska is huge for a team short on quarterback depth heading into the season.

Thompson has a college football pedigree, as he is the son of former Oklahoma quarterback Charles Thompson, who, coincidentally enough, defeated the Cornhuskers in a hyped-up 1987 game as one of his biggest claims to fame.

Nebraska is clearly not sitting back after their disappointing year, as Casey Thompson flashed the potential to be a difference-maker during his brief stint at Texas.
