The Houston Rockets will be without one of their most efficient inside scorers as Nene has been declared out for the season with a left adductor tear, according to the team.

Having gone through his share of injuries throughout his 14-year career, Nene has been a relatively healthy spark plug off the bench for the Rockets this season, providing an even bigger effort in the playoffs as a stand-and-bang load on the low-block.

His rebounding efficiency and toughness on the glass has proved very useful assets for Houston's inside-outside game, one which they'll be forced to adjust from in his absence.

Houston will be forced to ask for extended minutes from center Clint Capela, as well as tapping center/forward hybrid Montrezl Harrell for some playing time after only playing 18 minutes this entire postseason.

Without a battle-proven banger on the block, the team might opt to fine-tune their offense to a smaller lineup to favor their transition game that drove San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich mad in Games 1 and 4.

Nene held averages of 10 points and 4.7 rebounds in 17.9 minutes throughout nine games this postseason, shooting a sky-high 70.6 percent from the field — good for second-best in the NBA among qualified players — and posting a career-high 21.6 player efficiency rating.

The Brazilian's highlight of his postseason career was a brilliant 28-point, 10-rebound double-double gem in Game 4 against Oklahoma City, where he went a perfect 12-of-12 from the field, helping the Rockets to a four-point win on the road.
