It's been a hot minute since Ben Simmons stepped on a basketball court in a live game. But, Brooklyn Nets fans should be feeling a tad bit of excitement after his latest update.

Simmons took to Instagram after a recent workout and said he's “feeling incredible” as he continues to rehab after undergoing back surgery.

Simmons came over to the Nets in the James Harden trade in March from the Philadelphia 76ers, where he became one of the most hated figures in the city after his meltdown in the 2021 NBA Playoffs. The Aussie got a fresh start in Brooklyn, but he failed to ever suit up for the franchise due to a back injury.

Now, it appears the former guard is finally trending in the right direction ahead of the 2022-23 season. With Kyrie Irving recently opting into his player option, that means KD, Kyrie, and Simmons should all be on the floor together come opening night. The hope is all three of them can stay healthy for the Nets, who have serious title aspirations.

It's hard to know what to expect from Simmons after such a long period away from the sport, but he'll certainly have the chance to prove himself. If Simmons can be even close to the player he once was in his early days with the Sixers, it will be good news for Brooklyn.
