In their loss to the New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets set franchise and league lows, per Malika Andrews of ESPN.

The Nets shot just 26.9 percent from the field — making them the second team to shoot below 30 percent this season. In addition, their shooting percentage is the worst by any team since Jan. 23, 2012, worst by the Knicks opponent since Nov. 11, 2003, and the worst in the franchise since Dec. 5, 2000.

The Nets also connected on just a paltry eight 2-point field goals, easily the worst in almost six decades.

Only two players for the Nets scored in double figures. Spencer Dinwiddie had 25 points while Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot had 10. In addition to their poor shooting from the field, they also struggled from deep, draining 13-of-50 for 26 percent.

The Nets are now 16-14 in the season. After a big summer that saw them landing Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, and DeAndre Jordan, it seems that the team needs a little more work.

Durant is not expected to suit up this year while Irving has been out for more than a month due to a shoulder injury. But even without their stars, analysts still expect the team to perform relatively well.

Their defeat at the hands of the Knicks — one of the worst teams in the league — will certainly raise some questions as they move forward. Are the Nets' core really good as advertised?
