The Brooklyn Nets are proving themselves to be a force in the Eastern Conference, as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are now healthy and ready to compete for an NBA championship.

The NBA has seen that the Nets have no shortages when it comes to offensive production, as they put up 145 points against the Atlanta Hawks and blew out the Golden State Warriors and the Boston Celtics.

However, after starting the season 3-0, the Nets dropped their last two out of three games to the Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies.

Head coach Steve Nash has attributed their recent struggles to one of the most fundamental aspects of the game: rebounding.

The Nets cannot afford to lose games because their players are not crashing the boards. If they want to rise to the top of the Eastern Conference, their fundamentals, especially rebounding, should be polished.

With big men such as DeAndre Jordan and Jarret Allen, along with forwards such as Kevin Durant and Jeff Green, the Nets have the potential to beat their opponents on the boards every game.

With each rebound comes an offensive possession that the Nets can capitalize on with their tremendous offensive talent. Aside from Irving and Durant, players such as Caris LeVert and Joe Harris have shown the NBA that they are offensive weapons. Without boards, these offensive possessions are minimized and Brooklyn will continue to find themselves struggling to get a flow going on the offensive end.
