New York sports fans are some of the most savage group of supporters you can ever come across. Their relentlessness was on full display on Saturday as their Brooklyn Nets took on Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns.

Nets superstar James Harden was on the wrong end of some jeers from the home crowd at Barclays Center after an unforced turnover. Harden may be one of the most popular superstars on this team, but it doesn't really matter to New Yorkers (h/t Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN):

Nets fans literally booed their own star after a turnover against the Suns. It wasn't as if this happened during the dying moments of a game, too, which speaks volumes of the home supporters' extremely high standards on their players.

Then again, the Nets suffered a 113-107 defeat at the hands of the Suns so this could explain the frustration from the fans. The fact that Harden had a bad game definitely played a factor in all this as well. The former MVP went 4-of-15 from the floor and 0-of-6 from distance for just 12 points in 40 minutes of action. He was able to amass a triple-double with 13 rebounds and 14 assists, though, but he did turn the rock over seven times.

The Nets get a chance to avenge this loss on Tuesday when they return to action. Incidentally, they will be facing off against cross-town rivals in the New York Knicks. That should be a good one.
