The Brooklyn Nets want a LOT for Kevin Durant, and they are not budging when it comes to their asking price.

In fact, the Nets are actually aiming for bigger returns for Durant. As Brian Lewis of the New York Post noted, while Brooklyn is not hoping to get a player of KD's caliber, they would want at least a star-level athlete. What kind of superstar, you ask? Well, say Anthony Edwards or Karl-Anthony Towns.

Of course, such massive trade will need to involve more than just two teams, which is why the Nets have told suitors to bring other franchises to make a deal happen.

League personnel who spoke to The Post said Nets general manager Sean Marks — and by default team owner Joe Tsai as well — are adamant about getting back All-Star caliber talent in return for Durant. And with their disgruntled star having four years left on his contract, the Nets are in no rush to deal.

The Nets obviously can’t get like-for-like value for Durant, or bring an MVP back to Brooklyn. But the Nets are aiming high — reportedly eying the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns or Anthony Edwards — so they’ve told opposing GMs to loop third and even fourth teams into the mix to cobble together the pieces they want.

The market for Kevin Durant has only gotten expensive in recent days, with the Nets also searching for a treasure trove of first-round picks and pick swaps in any package.

Sure enough, plenty of moving parts will be required to finalize any deal for KD. The good thing for the Nets, however, is that they have time and complete control over what they can do.

The Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat, and Golden State Warriors have been mentioned to have interest in KD. Still, there has been no significant traction when it comes to actually making a trade done.

For now, one thing is for sure: the Nets won't settle for anything less than the best offer they can get.
