Brooklyn Nets star point guard Kyrie Irving will miss his second straight game on Monday against the Indiana Pacers.

Irving is still dealing with pain in his right shoulder:

The Nets defeated the Chicago Bulls on Saturday sans Irving. Brooklyn is 5-7 on the season, good for ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings.

In 11 games this season for the Nets, Irving is averaging 28.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 7.2 assists. The six-time All-Star is shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 34.1 percent from beyond the arc and 93.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Without Irving, the Nets started Spencer Dinwiddie, Joe Harris, Taurean Prince, Garrett Temple and Jarrett Allen against the Bulls. Brooklyn won by a final score of 117-111. Dinwiddie scored 24 points to lead the Nets in scoring, while Harris added 22.

Brooklyn hosts the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. Maybe Irving will return for that game. Head coach Kenny Atkinson told reporters in Chicago that Irving has been playing through pain since the Utah Jazz game on Nov. 12. The Nets are without small forward Caris LeVert as well. He will miss the next five to six weeks after undergoing thumb surgery.

Dinwiddie will have to shoulder the scoring load for Brooklyn while Irving is out. The guard proved he can do that on Saturday versus the Bulls.
