Reddit user noahnierenberg pointed out Wednesday evening that ever since HBO and The Ringer's Bill Simmons tweeted out that the Brooklyn Nets were “embarrassing,” the Nets have won nine out of their last 10 games.

Bench player and vital part of the rotation Ed Davis is even surprised by the amount of success Brooklyn has had lately.
“Honestly, no. I didn’t think it was going to pan out like this. Obviously I’m happy that I am here, but I can’t lie to you. July 1 I didn’t think we were going to be one game out of the eighth spot and play a team two games in a row that we can definitely move up in the standings on. I couldn’t predict that.”
Young talent like Spencer Dinwiddie, D'Angelo Russell, and Jarrett Allen have begun to blossom this season. Brooklyn could soon be a place where top free agents might like to sign to play with this young talent for head coach Kenny Atkinson.
The Nets moved to 17-19 on the season after a thrilling double-overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday. They sit right outside a playoff seed in the ninth spot of the NBA’s Eastern Conference under head coach Kenny Atkinson. Brooklyn has gotten back into the race thanks to an offense that ranks toward the top of the league over these last 10 games.
The Nets will next play the Hornets again on Friday, this time in Charlotte.
