One of the key pieces in the blockbuster trade that saw James Harden make his way to the Brooklyn Nets was Caris LeVert, who now plies his trade with the Indiana Pacers. The 26-year-old has not made his Pacers debut, however, after a recent MRI revealed a small mass on his left kidney.

LeVert recently took to Instagram to openly discuss his current medical condition, as well as to send out a heartfelt message of thanks for his former team:

LeVert himself admitted that the deal sending him to Indiana could have possibly saved his life. Had it not been for the trade, he would not have gotten the MRI which revealed the mass in his kidney. As he implied in his post above, everything happens for a reason.

LeVert, the 20th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, spent four seasons in Brooklyn prior to being traded to the Pacers. The 6-foot-6 wing made considerable strides during his time with the Nets, which ultimately resulted in a breakout campaign last term. During the 2019-20 season, LeVert put up across the board career-best averages of 18.7 points on 42.5 percent shooting, 4.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 steals, while also connecting on 1.8 triples per game on a 36.4-percent shooting clip.

LeVert is expected to make a full recovery from his current medical condition, and once he returns, he is expected to be one of Indiana's most important players as the team looks to establish itself as a legitimate contender in the East.
