Hall of Fame forward and current TNT NBA analyst Charles Barkley was amused by Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant's shortness with him during a postgame interview on NBA Opening Night.

Barkley said he is unsure as to the exact reason Durant appeared upset with him, but he got a kick out of the one-word response when Barkley asked Durant about his recovery from a ruptured Achilles:

“See, I don’t even know if it was about Kyrie, or I said that (Durant’s) not going to get the credit he deserves until he wins a championship without the Warriors,” Barkley said, via Sam Amick of The Athletic. “So I’m not sure if it was what I said about him or what I said about Kyrie. Like, man, I don’t know what these fucking guys are (hearing) to be honest with you, Sam. But clearly, he was upset about something to give me that one-word answer. To me, it was hilarious.

The “Inside the NBA” crew caught up with Durant after he and the Brooklyn Nets defeated the Golden State Warriors in the first game of the new season.

Barkley alluded to the rumors Durant could return during last season's NBA restart before asking Durant what he did to keep ramping up basketball activities. Durant responded with a curt “Yeah,” and that was it:

There has been quite a bit of the “old guard versus new guard” going on as of late, a rift accentuated by Shaquille O'Neal's recent criticisms of Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell. Durant also went after Barkley for suggesting NBA players should have early access to COVID-19 vaccines. KD certainly seems to have quite the beef with Chuck at this point.

But Sir Charles is hardly offended by the dialogue and purported dislike, instead choosing to take everything with a grain of salt.
