The Brooklyn Nets welcomed back Kyrie Irving to the team on Wednesday, albeit on a “part-time” basis. While most fans are just happy to see Uncle Drew back on the court, at least one NBA talking head is not thrilled with Kyrie's return.

Charles Barkley, who's been always critical of Kyrie Irving in the past, was displeased with how the Nets handled Irving's return. The NBA legend-turned-TV personality said that Kyrie's return isn't fair… for a completely different reason.

“… I don't think it's fair. We're on every night except Friday during the playoffs. If I said ‘you know what, I'm not gonna work on the weekend' I don't think that's fair to you guys… Kyrie is a heck of a player but to only play in road games, I don't think it's fair to the game. More importantly, I don't think it's fair to the [Nets] team.”

Most NBA fans would say that Kyrie Irving's return to the Nets is unfair because, well, they already have Kevin Durant and James Harden. However, Barkley, being a former player, takes a different stance here. Chuck hones in on the “part-time” status in particular, calling it unfair to his teammates, who have to show up for every game.

Charles Barkley isn't the first TV personality to call out Kyrie Irving. Earlier in the season, fellow NBA on TNT host Shaquille O'Neal criticized Irving for refusing to play because of the vaccine mandate in Brooklyn. Whether you think Shaq and Chuck are right or wrong, it doesn't really matter. The fact of the matter is that the Nets decided they need Kyrie back, and they did exactly that.
