Hall of Famer Charles Barkley says the Brooklyn Nets are “clearly a more stable organization” than the New York Knicks and thinks star free agents should sign with Brooklyn instead of New York this summer.

Both the Nets and Knicks have cap space to sign two max contract players this offseason and been linked to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Barkley, one of the best players in NBA history, says if he was a free agent, he would sign with Brooklyn.

“I'd probably take the Nets because I think they're more stable,” Barkley said, via Ian Begley of SNY. “I think they've got the better supporting cast. I think (Nets GM) Sean Marks has done a fabulous job and Coach (Kenny) Atkinson has done a fabulous job.

“Nobody thought that team would make the playoffs and they did a fabulous job. They play hard every night. They're just more stable than the Knicks. Obviously, the Knicks are the Knicks. But from a strictly basketball standpoint, the Nets are clearly a more stable organization.”

The Nets made the playoffs this season for the first time since 2015. Although Brooklyn lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round in five games, it's clear as day the Nets are on the right trajectory.

The Knicks, meanwhile, have been a walking disaster for years. New York hasn't made the postseason since 2013 and James Dolan is arguably the worst owner in the NBA.
