Brooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell is the first player in franchise history with 76-plus points and 22-plus assists in a two-game stretch, according to Anthony Puccio of NetsDaily.

Russell finished with 32 points and 10 assists against the LA Clippers, and then he followed that up with 44 points and 12 assists versus the Sacramento Kings:

D'Angelo Russell made his first All-Star team this season and has blossomed into one of the best young players in the league.

In 72 games for the Nets this season, Russell is averaging 20.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.9 assists per contest. The 23-year-old lefty is shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 36.6 percent from beyond the arc and 79.7 percent from the free-throw line.

Russell has 10 double-doubles on the season. The guard enters restricted free agency this summer and is going to get paid.

Imagine how frustrated Magic Johnson and the Los Angeles Lakers feel right now. Magic gave up on Russell after just two seasons and shipped him off to Brooklyn. The Nets are reaping the benefits of that mistake and now finally have a legitimate franchise point guard again.

The Nets are trying to make the playoffs this season for the first time since 2015. Brooklyn enters Thursday with a record of 37-36, which is good for seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings.
