D’Angelo Russell passes Deron Williams for second-most 3-pointers in a season in Nets history
Brooklyn Nets guard D’Angelo Russell has not been in town very long. However, he has already managed to etch his place into franchise history alongside former Nets point guard Deron Williams.
Russell has enjoyed a bit of a resurgence in Brooklyn. His deep ball during the third quarter against the San Antonio Spurs moved him ahead of Williams for second-most three-pointers in franchise history.

There is no question that this is an impressive milestone for Russell. Especially when one considers he has not even been in Brooklyn for two full seasons. Regardless, it has not taken him very long to make his presence felt.
D’Angelo Russell’s career got off to a tumultuous start with the Los Angeles Lakers. His struggles early on were magnified by an off-court scandal that seemed to be beyond reparation. Fortunately, the change of scenery has done wonders for his career.
Russell has become the new face of the Nets franchise thanks to his stellar play over the last two seasons. His emergence has helped elevate Brooklyn back into the playoff picture in the Eastern Conference. He was even able to earn his first career trip to the All-star Game.
Brooklyn is in a solid position to earn a favorable seed in the postseason. The Nets will continue to rely heavily on D’Angelo Russell as their franchise player moving forward. It is safe to say that he will own quite a few of the team’s records when it is all said and done.
