Brooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell has become an All-Star this season, and it looks like the lefty has the culture and structure of Brooklyn to thank.

Russell, who has developed a strong relationship with Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson, is enjoying the ride he's been on with the Nets and says the franchise has molded him into the player he is.

“Definitely given me another opportunity to perform at this level,” Russell said, via Michael Scotto of The Athletic. “You can’t control your future, but being in Brooklyn so far has given me a great blueprint of what type of player I want to be, and the city is buzzing right now with the success of the sports, so I’ve been enjoying the whole ride.”

This season for the Nets, Russell has established himself as one of the best young point guards in the NBA.
