Brooklyn Nets point guard D'Angelo Russell has a clear message for people who may have just discovered the Nets are the real deal.

After defeating the Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 on Saturday, Russell told ESPN, “If you're not with us, you're not with us. Simple as that.”

A lot of pundits predicted the Sixers to sweep the Nets. Russell and the rest of his teammates clearly have other ideas.

In his first playoff game, Russell didn't look fazed. The lefty finished with 26 points, three rebounds, and four assists in 29 minutes. The All-Star guard shot 10-of-25 from the field, 2-of-6 from beyond the arc, and 4-of-5 from the free-throw line.

The Nets just won their first playoff game since 2015. Naturally, there are going to be a few people who are going to jump on the bandwagon. Russell, though, wants to play for the fans who have been sticking by the organization since the beginning of the season.

Game 2 of the series is on Monday. Brooklyn will look to take a commanding 2-0 series lead. The Sixers will obviously come out with more fire and desperation. Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson has to make sure he has his guys prepared for the storm which may come from Philly.
