Brooklyn Nets big man Ed Davis has expressed his desire to remain with the team beyond this season. He's found a home.
Ed Davis is currently on a one-year, $4.4 million contract, which will make him an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2019. However, the 29-year-old veteran said that he is hoping to work out a deal with the Nets in the summer that will keep him at Brooklyn long-term.
Davis is having an excellent season off the bench for the Nets. In 17.9 minutes per game, he is averaging 5.8 points and 8.3 rebounds while shooting a blistering 61.4 percent from the field.
The nine-year NBA veteran is currently second in the NBA in rebounding percentage and first in offensive rebounding. He has also become a very reliable rotation player while backing up Brooklyn's young and talented center Jarrett Allen.
The Nets have surprisingly been competitive this season. They are currently 16-19 and sit right outside a playoff seed in the 9th spot of the NBA's Eastern Conference under head coach Kenny Atkinson.
