Renowned hip-hop artist and self-confessed New York Knicks fan Fat Joe has come out to say that he knows exactly why Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving decided against joining New York last summer and went to the Brooklyn Nets instead.

According to the rapper, both Durant and Irving do not have what it takes to take on such as huge franchise such as the Knicks.

While we could probably — to some extent — try and get on board with what Fat Joe is trying to say here, this honestly sounds more like a sour-graping fan expressing his frustration for what was nothing less than an epic meltdown by the Knicks during the offseason. After all, the 49-year-old hip-hop icon is a life-long Knicks fan, having been born and raised in South Bronx, New York.

It now feels like an eternity since both Durant and Irving so ferociously tore apart the Knicks organization after deciding to join the Brooklyn Nets. Not only did these two superstars turn down the Knicks after multiple reports that they were all but ready to sign with the team, but to add salt to the wounds of the Knicks faithful, they had to join the team's bitter cross-town rivals in the Nets.

Obviously, Fat Joe himself — like most, if not all Knicks supporters — are still feeling the traumatic effects of one of the worst offseasons in franchise history. These are the types of things that one does not forget easily, and for Fat Joe, it appears that the wounds are still very fresh.
