Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks says the franchise won’t be making any timelines available for Kevin Durant’s return from an Achilles tear.

Durant is widely expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season:

The Nets signed Kevin Durant to a four-year deal worth $164.26 million. The Golden State Warriors and Nets ended up completing a sign-and-trade deal involving Durant and D'Angelo Russell.

Durant tore his right Achilles tendon in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. The Nets are making the right move by not updating Durant's recovery. The focus of this upcoming season should be on the team instead of giving fans false hope that KD might play.

Along with adding Durant, Brooklyn also signed Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Garrett Temple and Wilson Chandler. The Nets are going to be really fun to watch next season. They might not be title contenders without Durant, but Brooklyn could be a top-four team in the Eastern Conference.

The long-term health of Durant is very important. It would be foolish for KD to rush back in 2019-20. After everything that happened with the star with the Warriors after he initially suffered a calf strain earlier in the playoffs, Durant and his camp are going to be very cautious moving forward.
