Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant was not expected to make his return to the court this season after suffering a ruptured Achilles during last year's NBA Finals.

However, the suspension of play due to the coronavirus pandemic has shifted the NBA's timeline back quite a bit, prompting questions about a potential Durant return.

While Nets general manager Sean Marks stated the team will not pressure Durant to play if the season does indeed resume, he also said Durant was looking like himself prior to the hiatus.

Via Grant Chapman of Newshub:

“That's a $110m question,” chuckles Marks. “In all seriousness, we've tried not to talk about his timeline a lot.

“He knows his body better than anybody. Our performance team and training staff have done a tremendous job getting him to this point, but I just don't know how coming out of this pandemic will affect anybody, let alone Kevin.

“When you've got enough invested in a player like Kevin, we're never going to push him to come back. When the timing is right, he'll be 100 percent when he gets on the court.

“I can tell you this though – before the pandemic, he looked like Kevin Durant and that's a good thing.”

Members of Durant's inner circle insist he will sit out the remainder of the season, regardless of whether play resumes.

Durant's manager, Rich Kleiman, called a KD return unrealistic, and Marks' suggestion that the team will not push their superstar seems to indicate he will not take the court this year.

However, Durant's steady progress bodes well for his ability to come back at full strength, whenever that might be.
