Jahlil Okafor is the illustrious third pick from the 2015 NBA Draft. He was projected to succeed right away in the NBA. But now, things have changed for the 6'11” center. After an unproductive tenure with the Philadelphia 76ers, Okafor was traded to the Brooklyn Nets.

Now, he is undergoing a transition phase. According to Fred Kerber of the New York Post, Okafor admitted that he is still trying to get to know his new Nets team.

“It works on both parties, of me having to adjust to the team and the team having to adjust to me. I’m open to it and so are they.”

In the Nets' victory over the Timberwolves Wednesday night, Okafor registered two points and two rebounds in 11 minutes. Okafor admitted that he felt somewhat rusty and timid in the Nets' offense.

“Running it back in my mind, I thought I was in the correct spots most of the time. I thought I felt a little timid at certain points when I had the ball in my hands. That’s just not playing in a while, not wanting to make any mistakes, make any turnovers. But as a whole I was able to do what I wanted to accomplish.”

This past Saturday, the Nets battled the Celtics in a close matchup. Brooklyn lost 87-85 but they didn't make things easy in the grind-it-out victory for the Celtics. In 13 minutes of action, Okafor scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds, showing glimpses of his talent throughout the game.

Once Jahlil Okafor and the Nets become acclimated to each other, the big man's potential may just bloom to how it should really be.
