It has not been long since James Harden started donning a Brooklyn Nets jersey and he's already forging his name into the record books. Against the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, The Beard matched an assists record by franchise icon Jason Kidd.

Per ESPN, Harden has now recorded six straight games with at least 10 assists. It's the longest streak in franchise history since Jason Kidd did it in 2002.

In their 122-111 loss to the Pistons, Harden dished out 12 dimes to go along with 24 points and six rebounds.

The streak started two weeks ago in the Nets' 132-128 overtime win over the Atlanta Hawks where Harden dished out 15 assists. In the following game, Harden had 11 assists, followed by 14, 12 and 10. It was just unfortunate that the last three games were losses.

Ahead of their duel with the Pistons, Nets head coach Steve Nash reiterated their need for an aggressive James Harden.

“An aggressive James is the way we want him to play. Some nights that might be 15 assists, some nights that might be 35 points and 15 assists. We want him to be aggressive but we also want our guys to recognize that it's about the team's health and how difficult we are to guard — not what the individual numbers are,” Nash explained, per Yahoo Sports,

With three superstars in the fold, the Nets are expected to make waves in the regular season and in the playoffs. So far, they have shown glimpses of how dominant they can be. But understandably, Harden, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are figuring out how to co-exist with one another, as well as their teammates.
