He's serving up sweet dimes on the court, and savory meals off of it. Brooklyn Nets star guard James Harden is doing his part this Thanksgiving by giving back to the community. The MVP candidate partnered with a Brooklyn non-profit organization to help at-need New Yorker enjoy the spirit of Thanksgiving with a hearty meal.

North Brooklyn Angels, a non-profit that helps homeless New Yorkers get through their days, gave out 300 meals on-site and delivered 100 more to other at-risk people. Harden, who was traded to the Nets a year ago, showed up to the proceedings to help distribute meals to these people.

The Nets star also relayed a short message to New Yorkers: (via News12)

“Happy Thanksgiving… Hope you guys enjoy your day, get some good food, and be with your family. Peace and respect, love!”

North Brooklyn Angels board member Philip Mauro also spoke about the event, saying:

“This is just an extension of what we do at the North Brooklyn Angels basically every day of the week. We serve the community, and we're out making sure people get fed.”

This isn't the first time Harden has been involved in charity work. Back when he was a part of the Houston Rockets, the Nets star would organize an annual charity event called JH-Town. He would bring some of his teammates to participate, including now-Lakers point guard Russell Westbrook.

It's nice to see that Harden is giving back to his new community despite being there for less than a year or so. I'm sure the Nets star's presence, along with the meals he handed out, gave these New Yorkers something to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.
