Brooklyn Nets star James Harden is one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA today, and he further cemented that status with a new playoff milestone.

While Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry is largely considered the GOAT shooter, Harden strengthened his bid to outshine Curry in one category: the most 3-pointers in the playoffs. The Nets star cracked the Top 5 of the said list on Friday against the Boston Celtics, surpassing San Antonio Spurs legend Manu Ginobili.

James Harden entered the contest needing just two triples to surpass Ginobili's 324 mark, and he did so right in the first quarter of their Game 3 showdown with Boston. In fact, he had 13 points in the opening period alone.

He is still quite far from Curry's mark of 470 triples made in the playoffs, but he has a great chance to close the gap with Steph and the Dubs absent in this year's playoffs once again. Moreover, with the Nets expected to make it deep this 2021 postseason, he could very well up to the fourth or third spot–with Klay Thompson also out and Ray Allen already retired.

Curry holds several 3-point records in the NBA, but with the way things are going, it looks like he has strong competition from Harden for this playoff honor.

The will be second to Harden's priority though, especially as he tries to win his first NBA title with Brooklyn alongside champions Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.
