James Harden is one of the most prolific volume scorers in NBA history. That's a fact. Before being a part of the Brooklyn Nets' Big 3, Harden was the powerhouse behind the Houston Rockets' offense. He took most of the shots, made most of the passes, and basically just did everything for the team and then some.

As a result, the Nets star earned an undesirable record that he'd likely rather strike off the record. Against the New Orleans Pelicans, Harden broke Ray Allen's record for most 3-point shots missed in an entire career.

Harden is a textbook volume scorer amplified by the modern NBA's new offensive philosophies. Under Mike D'Antoni's iso-heavy offense, the former MVP took a ton of shots from distance, mostly contested step-back 3s. When he was traded to the Nets, the number of attempts took a dip, but the damage has been done.

To his credit, James Harden has also made a lot of his 3-point attempts. Despite the degree of difficulty on most of his shots, Harden ranks fourth in all-time made triples. Some fans might not agree with how Harden gets his points and think it's not good for the game, but it has been undeniably effective for the Nets star.

Harden will likely have to channel his former Houston form in the meantime, though. Fellow Nets star Kevin Durant came down with a nasty-looking knee injury against the Pelicans. It's very likely that KD will miss a significant chunk of time this season. With Kyrie Irving still a part-time player, Harden has to carry the load to keep the team afloat.
