Two of the hottest teams in the NBA are on a collision course for Saturday night as the Brooklyn Nets take on the red-hot Phoenix Suns.

Devin Booker, Chris Paul and the rest of the Suns have scorched opponents for 14 straight games. But the Nets haven't been that much cooler themselves, as they've won 12 of their last 14 games. This could very well be an NBA Finals preview and a good barometer for where both teams are at right now.

But don't tell that to James Harden. The Nets guard was dismissive of the enormity of their matchup against the Suns. To him, it's just another game.

Via The New York Post:

“Measuring stick for who? For y’all? Not for us,” Harden said of the looming Nets-Suns matchup. “If anybody is looking at Saturday as a statement game, it’s not the Nets.”

“Nah. It’s 20 games into the season. That’s not no measuring stick. We’re still trying to find ourselves and our identity. We don’t measure — we let y’all, the media, blow it up and talk about it. It don’t give you more wins or more losses.”

The Beard has a point. Regular season performance on a grand scale may reveal what a team is made of in the long run. But a solitary contest in the first quarter of the NBA season is far from a true test of mettle.

But whether or not there's should truly be any weight placed on the affair, Nets and Suns fans alike will certainly enjoy the titanic tilt.
