After a four-team blockbuster deal amid all sorts of drama surrounding his play as well as his off-court activities, James Harden was traded from the Houston Rockets to the Brooklyn Nets for a king’s ransom of draft picks (three unprotected first-rounders and four pick swaps) along with numerous talented young players.

Now, Shams Charania of The Athletic has announced that Harden will make his Nets debut on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. EST against the Orlando Magic:

Harden was officially introduced as a member of the Nets on Friday after the mammoth trade was announced on Wednesday. Harden produced many notable quotes from his debut press conference, but perhaps the most telling was when he was speaking about “sacrificing” alongside the already potent scoring tandem of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving:

“We have two elite scorers that the world knows already,” Harden said in the presser, per Jordan Greer in Sporting News. “My job is to come out here, obviously score the basketball when needed, but my playmaking ability — getting our shooters shots, getting our bigs finishes around the rim and making the entire team better — I think that's one aspect of my game that will excel in this offense. As long as I'm making my teammates better, it doesn't matter about the points. I think everybody knows that I can score the ball at a high clip. And that's where the sacrifice comes in at.”

Harden made eight straight All-Star team selections during his tenure with the Rockets and has been the league’s scoring champion for three straight seasons—though that seems likely to end with the astonishing scoring ability of his new superstar teammates.

No matter what, it will be fascinating to see Harden in a new uniform for the first time since 2012.
