Kenyon Martin caused quite a stir recently when he fired some shots directed at Jeremy Lin and his current hairstyle. With Lin now sporting dreadlocks, the former NBA pro made his thoughts about it known and even said that his hairstyle choice is inappropriate for a player who is not African American in an Instagram post he made on Wednesday.

After finding out about it, the Brooklyn Nets guard has responded to the strong comments Martin made. However, instead of retaliating with a fiery statement of his own, he said that he understands him, especially coming from a minority as well and is even grateful for it via his reply on Instagram.
Lin certainly deserves a lot of credit for not reacting negatively when Martin blasted him. Instead, he focused on the positive takeaway he got from it and even acknowledged his comments. It’s definitely not easy to remain calm and not fire back on social media as well, but he knows he represents Asian-Americans and does not want them to be placed in a bad light.
It remains to be seen if Martin will still respond to Lin, but with how he delivered his reply, it’s more likely that he will opt not to anymore.
