Brooklyn Nets swingman Joe Harris gets an invite to join teammate Jarrett Allen at the USA Basketball training camp, per The Athletic.  Team USA is gearing up for the 2019 FIBA World Cup in China in August.

Harris enters Team USA's training camp with Allen amidst a score of top-level NBA talent dropping out of selection for the international competition. Anthony Davis, James Harden, Bradley Beal, CJ McCollum, Eric Gordon, Tobias Harris and Zion Williamson all took their names off USA Basketball's list.

The 6-foot-6 shooting guard is coming off a career best season with the Nets, making the playoffs after a three-year gap. Harris re-signed with the franchise last summer to the tune of a two-year, $16 million contract, so he'll be on an expiring deal this upcoming season.

Harris averaged 13.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 30.2 minutes per game during the 2018-19 season for Brooklyn, starting and appearing in 76 games. He is considered as one of the top marksman last season, shooting 50.0 percent from the field, 47.4 percent from 3-point range and 82.7 percent from the free throw line.

The 27-year-old Harris made a name for himself last season after winning the 3-point shootout during the 2019 All-Star Weekend, beating 2015 champion Stephen Curry in the final round of the contest.
