Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has nothing but love for the Milwaukee Bucks, even showing his support for the team multiple times by attending games in the past. Despite that, he kept it real and offered his honest assessment on the chances of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. against Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets inn their 2021 playoffs series.

The Bucks fell 3-2 to the Nets on Tuesday after Durant exploded for a historic triple-double of 49 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists in Game 5. Brooklyn was actually behind by 16 points at the half, and with Kyrie Irving out and James Harden rusty and essentially playing with one leg, it looked like there was no hope for Steve Nash’s squad.

That is, however, until Durant completely took over and broke the hearts of the Bucks.

Apparently, the said performance seems to have convinced KAJ that the Bucks have little to no chance at all in beating the Nets–let alone winning the title. Speaking with Rachel Nichols on The Jump, the six-time NBA champion emphasized he doesn’t see a way for his former team to stop KD.

If there is anything that Game 5 has proven, it is the fact that Kevin Durant is one of, if not the most unstoppable scorer in the NBA. This is likely why Kareem Abdul-Jabbar lost all hope for the Bucks, especially considering they weren’t able to take advantage of the Nets’ injury woes and their huge halftime lead.

Of course, the series is far from over and everyone knows no lead is safe in the NBA. Nonetheless, Abdul-Jabbar’s rather harsh assessment certainly won’t raise the morale of Giannis Antetokounmpo and his Bucks.
