It hasn't even been a day since Kenny Atkinson was let go by the Brooklyn Nets but it appears there's already a leading candidate for his replacement in Tyronn Lue. While some may think that it's surprisingly quick for people to find someone new, Kendrick Perkins revealed why he believes the former Cleveland Cavaliers coach is perfect for the job.

Perk took it to Twitter to point out his arguments why Lue is a great fit with the Nets. The former Cavs big man emphasized that Irving had some of his best years as a player when Lue was the man drawing up plays from the sideline.

“Nets should be looking at Ty Lue!!! Kyrie had his best years playing under Head Coach TLue and they went to 3 straight finals together. He always put Kyrie in position to be successful and oh yeah he drew up a play for Kyrie that was 1 of the biggest shots in NBA History!” Kendrick Perkins wrote.

Lue should definitely have experience in leading a guard-forward combo to the Finals. During his stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he led Kyrie and LeBron James to multiple Finals runs, winning one of them for Cleveland. While Kyrie and LeBron are both talented ballers who carried the team, it was Lue who made the plays that helped the Cavaliers win a lot of games.

Kevin Durant is an entirely different player compared to James, but he still has that dominance and star power that the current Los Angeles Laker has in spades. He should not have any problem figuring out a system for the Nets that will benefit both Kevin and Kyrie next season.

Nothing is set in stone until the Nets actually hire him, but it makes a lot of sense for the franchise to pick Tyronn Lue up for next season.
