Brooklyn Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson will be coaching in his first playoff series, so he asked help from San Antonio Spurs mastermind Gregg Popovich.

Well, sort of.

According to Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News, Atkinson admitted that he had to resort to google to get an idea how to prepare for the NBA playoffs. Interestingly, he was very specific with what he searched: “playoff preparation comments from Gregg Popovich.”

Pops is one of the most brilliant basketball minds and some even consider him as the greatest coach in league history. The Spurs became a model of consistency under his tutelage, and his record-breaking 22 straight postseason appearances is enough proof of his genius.

It's unknown what Kenny Atkinson found during his google search, but fans don't have to wait for long to find that out. The Nets play the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round of the playoffs on Saturday.

Under Atkinson, Brooklyn made the postseason for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign. He is often credited for helping develop the young guys such as D'Angelo Russell, Spencer Dinwiddie and Caris LeVert and building a winning culture in the organization.

The Nets finished the 2018-19 season as the sixth seed with a 42-40 record, marking the first time in five years that they had a winning record to end the regular campaign.
