Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant just tested for the novel coronavirus. Rich Kleiman, his business partner, is still seeing crowded beaches despite the doctors' advice to stay at home and practice social distancing.

Via Twitter, Kleiman noted that he's still seeing people chilling on the beach in Florida. He called the situation ‘tragic, insane, sad, and ignorant.'

As of this writing, there are now seven NBA players who have tested positive for COVID-19. These are Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz, Christian Wood of the Detroit Pistons, Durant and three other Nets players.

As COVID-19 is paralyzing the world, there are still groups of people who are downplaying how serious the situation is. As such, the NBA has released a statement of the gravity of the situation. They are hoping that the decision of public figures like NBA players to release their health status will trigger everyone to follow the recommendations of health professionals to exercise social distancing.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended a postponement of events of 50 plus people for the next two months. As such, the NBA is eyeing the resumption of the season from mid-June to August. Owners and executives have been looking at G League courts and practice facilities. In the event that the season does resume, games will be held with no fans and limited crew.

But given that more NBA players have contracted the virus, time can only tell if plans of resuming the season could come into fruition.
