Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant recently criticized Hall of Famer and current TNT analyst Charles Barkley for suggesting NBA players should receive preferential treatment as it relates to COVID-19 vaccination.

Former NBA big man and activist Etan Thomas posted a link to a story from The Hill regarding Barkley's comments, in which the Round Mound of Rebound says NBA players should get the vaccine earlier because they pay more in taxes.

Durant hardly minced words in the comments:

Barkley has been among Durant's more vocal critics. He chastised KD after the former league MVP signed with the Golden State Warriors in the summer of 2016. Chuck also called Durant a “bus rider” back in October:

The animosity between the two was even more apparent after the Nets throttled the Warriors on Opening Night.

Durant was incredibly short with the NBA on TNT crew during his postgame interview, and Barkley in particular. Barkley asked about Durant's time away due to his Achilles injury, but Durant came back at him with a one-word reply.

It appears there is no love lost between the two. Then again, Durant has a point, at least when it comes to Barkley's recent statements.

Barkley's vaccinations comments were not only off-base, but they totally disregarded the fact NBA Commissioner Adam Silver already stated the league would not jump the line for the vaccine. What Chuck said on the matter was never going to influence league or government policy, and now he only has a controversial statement to show for it.

Durant made his voice heard again Friday on Instagram. This time around, KD was complaining about “old heads” criticizing the current generation of NBA stars, which was clearly a shot at guys like Barkley and Shaquille O'Neal after the criticism of Donovan Mitchell on Thursday night.
