Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant is keeping his focus on a return to the hardwood.

Durant's name had been circulated as part of the James Harden-to-Brooklyn rumors. But Durant said Wednesday he isn't thinking about Harden's situation in Houston:

“I don’t think about James Harden at all,” Durant said, via Kristian Winfield of the New York Daily News. “He doesn’t play on our team.”

Harden had initially requested a trade to Brooklyn in the hope of teaming with Durant yet again. Chris Broussard of FOX Sports reported Durant wanted “The Beard” to on the Nets. However, given the complicated history between Broussard and Durant, that should be taken with a grain of salt.

Regardless, a Nets-Rockets trade is all but out of the picture at this juncture.

Adrian Wojnarowski and Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported Tuesday it has become clear there is “no traction” in trade talks between the two teams, resulting in Harden pivoting to the Philadelphia 76ers and other contenders fitting under his set of criteria.

Meanwhile, Durant has enough to worry about. The Nets are hoping a healthy KD and Kyrie Irving will make Brooklyn a title contender. Fans are just as curious to see how Durant looks after suffering the Achilles injury in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals and missing the entirety of the 2019-20 season.

It should not come as a surprise Durant had little to say with respect to Harden. He has never been one to buy into media speculation or hype.

Instead, Durant is concerned with helping to bring out the best in his current teammates while reasserting himself as one of the best players in the world.
