Brooklyn Nets superstar forward Kevin Durant has been defended in many ways during his illustrious career. He has seen double teams, triple teams, zones, box-and-ones, traps, and everything else under the sun. On Tuesday, however, Durant was left praising the New York Knicks for holding him relatively in check (27 points but 0-5 from beyond the arc.) As Durant explained, via DaveEarly on Twitter: the Knicks were successful because they were very unpredictable:

“You see when we take the ball side out of bounds, you see a guy sometimes sitting in my lap, then there's another guy behind me sometimes, or a guy digging, so I gotta figure out back screens, and coming off pin downs, and handoffs, and playing off the ball a little bit more,” Durant said, “so Thibs is just unpredictable and he will make an adjustment in the middle of a game, his team will follow it and execute it so you gotta give him credit.”

Kevin Durant has faced the Knicks as a bitter rival for the past two years after signing with Brooklyn in early 2019 as he recovered from an Achilles injury. The Knicks know that containing Durant is a “must” if you want to win against the Nets, Even though Durant is just now getting back to full health, Durant still leads the league in scoring as of Tuesday night and if he finishes the season that way he would be the NBA's oldest scoring champion since the late Los Angeles Lakers legend, Kobe Bryant.
