Brooklyn Nets All-Star Kevin Durant is Forbes cover model for their Class of 2020 30 under 30 list. The former No. 2 overall pick announced this news on Tuesday morning through his Twitter account, noting that he was honored for the recognition.

Durant is known as one of the best basketball players in today's NBA, but he's also a savvy businessman. In fact, he co-founded Thirty Five Ventures, which is an investment firm that holds several startups under its umbrella.

“Supporting up-and-coming generations by tackling tough issues and empowering them with the tools for success has always been a priority in my life,” Durant said after partnering with Acorns in 2016, via The Undefeated.

Forbes' 2020 list highlights 600 young innovators and trendsetters who are changing the world, according to their official website. The 30 Under 30 issue features five consecutive covers, spotlighting Durant, Melanie Perkins, The Chainsmokers, Rachel Carlson and 21 Savage.

Durant joined the Nets this offseason by way of a sign-and-trade deal. Unfortunately, though, the 31-year-old is expected to miss all of the 2019-20 campaign as he recovers from an Achilles injury that was sustained in June.

The Nets have played fairly well without Durant, recording a 10-10 record through their first 20 games of this season. They'll be back in action on Wednesday night, when they'll travel to Atlanta for a matchup against the Hawks. Tip-off inside State Farm Arena is set for 7:30 p.m. ET.
