After dropping the first two games of the season series to the Chicago Bulls, the Brooklyn Nets responded in loud fashion on Wednesday night with a massive 138-112 victory. It was exactly what they needed after winning just two of their last five games, but Kevin Durant knows that Chicago is no longer a pushover.

This is what KD had to say about the surging Bulls following his 27-point night. Via K.C. Johnson:

“The crowd is starting to rally around the team. The city, you can feel it that they’re starting to understand that Chicago Bulls basketball is back. So for us to come in here and win in this fashion means a lot to us.”

The Nets star echoed what everyone in the NBA is thinking about the Bulls. With DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine leading the way, this team is a force to be reckoned with. Until Brooklyn eventually pulled away, you could feel the energy from the crowd at the United Center. There's a belief that Chicago is once again a contender.

Despite the win, the Nets still remain 1.5 games behind the 27-12 Bulls for top spot in the Eastern Conference. As KD said though, to go into the Windy City and beat them on their home floor means a lot. And the way this season is going, they could very well see Chicago down the road in the heat of the playoffs.
