Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving officially became a member of the exclusive 50/40/90 club thanks to an efficient performance to close out the season against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Irving scored 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting overall and 3-of-3 on 3-pointers, giving him final shooting percentages of 50.6% from the field, 40.2% from 3-point land and 92.2% from the charity stripe.

By doing this, Irving becomes the ninth member of the hallowed 50/40/90 club. He joins teammate Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Malcolm Brogdon, Steve Nash, Dirk Nowitzki, Larry Bird, Mark Price and Reggie Miller in the club. Nash did it a record four times.

Naturally, Durant had something to say after his teammate joined him in the club:

Durant became a member of the club in the 2012-13 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. That season, KD put up 28.1 points per game while shooting 51.0% from the field, 41.6% from 3-point range and 90.5% on free throws. Irving averaged 26.9 points in 54 games this season.

The Nets beat the Cavs 123-109 on Sunday to secure the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. James Harden didn't play as he rested his hamstring, so Brooklyn will go into the playoffs with the Big Three having played just eight games together. Of course, given the ridiculous talent level, that might not matter at all.

The Nets will still have to wait and see their opponent for the first round. They will play the winner of the play-in game between the Boston Celtics and Washington Wizards.
